Such a fascinating background and process. I am always amazed at what some artists can do with a palette knife. Plein Air events are stressful! Hats off to Cynthia!
Cynthia Rosen is one of my favorite artists. She's also an excellent teacher and a warm, very knowledgable, supportive, and encouraging human being. Thais was a very enjoyable interview and different from the usual artist interviews I've read.
Thanks! I wondered the same thing about finding time for art while raising six children, and loved learning about how she encouraged them to draw on the kitchen formica.
Thank you so very much Amy. I am always amazed when people are interested
in my work as for me...it is just what I do...nothing of note. :0) I am honored by your
writings and intrigued by how you get so much diverse information in a single article.
Thank you Cynthia! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about your art path and how you do what you do.

How fortunate that you've had lessons from Cynthia! So glad you liked the interview.
I love seeing the world through an artist’s eyes. I wonder how she kept feeding that flame with six kids?! Wonderful read.

I have an artist friend whose parents gave her buckets of paint to do her bedroom walls. I grew up in military housing that would NOT fly! 😆
Great article Amy. I got to meet Cynthia at CAPA , thanks for sharing her incredible story.
Formative childhood experiences…
