Thank you! I've been a fan of three of the artists in your essay for years. I've painted with Stape a couple of times in the past and was probably at the retrospective for Charlie at the museum about the same time as you. Not only did that show of Charlie's work change me in many ways that I didn't think I could be changed, I also met Dale there and was able to ask her about Charlie's move to acrylics from oils. She was gracious enough to give me some time to talk about that for which I am grateful still. These are all special people/artists in a very special place for artists, and everyone. Your sharing of your conversation with Dale is much appreciated.
What a wonderful profile of Dale Ratcliff. Having visited them recently at the Stapleton Kearns Gallery in Rockport MA was a an exciting display "tour de force of brushwork." Dale is surely one of the best marine painters working today.
This was such an interesting morning read. I like Bathtime the most - so vivid! I feel like I'm there.
Thanks Lorraine! That's one of my favorite paintings too.
Thank you for such an indepth interview and the link to Stape's blog. If I had to pick a favorite painting it would be Arcadia. They are all lovely.
Thanks Vicki!
Amy another great article.
Great article on an excellent painter!
